Posts Tagged ‘Joe Bastianich’Yesterday marked the inauguration of the much anticipated Soave Month @ Eataly. To kick off what will be a month jam-packed with great events and, most importantly, great Soave wines, press were invited to enjoy a Soave ‘aperitivo’ at Eataly. Attractions throughout the month of May will include a Soave Bar in the Eataly Piazza, Soave by the glass in all Eataly restaurants, tastings in the Enoteca, and a beautiful photo exhibit in Eataly entitled, ‘Soave Style.’ Long regarded as Italy’s favorite white wine, Soave has continued to grow in popularity with American wine drinkers. Soave Month at Eataly builds upon the momentum gained from the integrated marketing campaign launched by Colangelo & Partners on behalf of the Soave Consortium in 2010 to re-acquaint the US with the quality of Soave. The goal of the program was two-fold: introduce American wine drinkers to Soave and re-introduce the trade to the growing sales opportunity with Soave. The result has been palpable buzz and a 20% increase in Soave exports to the US in terms of volume and dollar value from 2009 to 2010. Steadily many younger American wine drinkers have discovered Soave’s diversity and great price/value quotient. Likewise, American wine trade has begun to realize the enormous upside of selling a great Italian white wine like Soave. Simply put the allure of Soave for Americans is undoubtedly the versatility and approachability. Soave is easy to say, easy to drink and easy on the wallet!
